FAQs

Which image format should I choose?
Use JPEG for photos and smaller files (especially at 72 or 150 DPI). Use PNG for crisp text, screenshots, and graphics where you want lossless quality. WebP balances size and quality in modern browsers. True TIFF export isn’t available in the browser; for print-ready lossless output, use PNG at 300 DPI.
What resolution (DPI) should I use?
72 DPI is enough for screen and web. 150 DPI is a good balance for general documents and email. 300 DPI is best when you plan to print. You pick the preset before converting; higher DPI means larger images and more memory use in your browser.
How many pages are converted?
Every page in your PDF is exported as its own numbered image. If there is more than one page, you get a ZIP archive; a single-page PDF downloads as one image file.
Why are my image files so large?
Higher DPI (especially 300) and PNG increase pixel dimensions and file size. JPEG or WebP at 72 or 150 DPI with slightly lower quality produces much smaller files.
Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
If the PDF won’t load, unlock it first with PrivOffice’s Unlock PDF tool (you need the password), then convert the unlocked file to images.
Are my PDFs uploaded to your servers?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF is not sent to PrivOffice for processing or storage.
Is PDF to JPG / PNG / images free?
Yes. All three tools are free with no sign-up required.
